Cyprus 2020: The 30th anniversary of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and genetics

The design depicts a ‘neuron with its synapses’ in reference to the activities performed by the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, which celebrates 30 years of existence. The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics receives international recognition and plays an active and essential role as a national, regional and international centre of excellence for the provision opf high quality services, innovative reasearch and postgraduate education. The iossuing country’s name ‘KYΠΡΟΣ - KIBRIS’ and the phrase ‘ΙΝΣΤΙTOYΤΟ ΝΕΥΡΟΛΟΓΊΑΣ & ΓΕΝΕΤΙKHΣ KYΠΡΟY 1990-2020’ (i.e. Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics 1990-2020) are inscribed in circle around the design. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European flag.
